My trip to NOLA depends on funding from my school so I need to go as cheap as possible. Anyone know of any good places and their prices per night?

I would recommend trying or.
I think those sites specialize in that type of thing.
If you don’t like the results you get from them, try doing a google search for travel sites.
You should not have too much trouble finding a relatively cheap place to stay down there, as the city is still rebuilding and a lot of people do not want to go there right now.
Crime tends to become a topic in questions about New Orleans. However, major crime (and almost all murders) happens well away from the French Quarter or anywhere else a tourist would visit. Use the same common sense you need in every major city in the world and there is little chance you will be a victim of anything except a need to visit the gym after you get home: Pay attention to your surroundings. Stay away from anywhere dark & deserted. Pay attention to your feelings – if anyone or anywhere gives you a bad feeling, leave the area. Don’t leave something like a camera-bag or backpack unattended on a park bench while you wander off to take photos. Etc.
Check Yahoo Travel,, and also hotel sites like and.
Finding a “cheap” hotel in the city center will be difficult. The tourism industry is recovering nicely and the hotels are no longer offering the great deals common last summer. Staying in the suburbs will cost less but you will need a car for transportation. If you are coming to NOLA (sponsored by your school) to help with the recovery, call the hotels that look likely and ask if they offer a “volunteer” rate.
You are welcome to write to me if you would like more information.
try where you can name you own price per night, but you would need a credit card to do it, and it won’t go very very low but its still a good bargin or
