Why isn’t New Orleans under water since it’s below sea level?
Posted February 28th, 2009Just wondering because i have a friend who told me she had visited New Orleans back before Katrina during Mardi Gras… and she said the feeling down there is different. She said it’s like you can tell you’re below sea level..but you’re not actually below water…. How is that?

Posted February 23rd, 2009I’ve had a trip planned for a few months to Nawlins. But after Hurricane Gustav last week, I wondered if people have come back yet: the evacuation, damage, etc: would it be better to delay the trip till next year? (I’m especially grateful for responses from folk actually IN Louisiana).
Thanks.
