Should I visit New Orleans Or West Coast?

Tryin to decide between going on a 1 week west coast road trip, or a New Orleans trip in July. I am leaning toward New Orleans since we have friends there and can borrow there car. If we do west coast trip it will be very costly, and we are saving for a big trip to S.America next. So how is New Orleans for a week visit…would we get bored. We love good foor, and i think that would bethe highlight of the trip for me. My husband always raves about New Orleans….I don’t know what to be excited for. How is there tourism there now?

Tourism is booming, it’s the living there that’s tough.

Come to New Orleans. Our food is better and our people are very friendly. Don’t listen to the people who say we aren’t, they’ve never been here, and if they have, apparently went about it in all the wrong ways. You won’t get bored, there are plenty of things, not that expensive either, all around downtown to keep you busy for days.

I’m from New York, you’ll be amazed at the southern hospitality. We are the exact opposite of New York goes, in many ways. We are very friendly, laid back and we don’t walk like we’re running lol(the only New Yorker’ish thing about me).

It’s hot as hell in July though. So the beaches are tempting. But we’re still better :) ~

I’m from Oklahoma and have visited both places. West coast trip will be very costly.N O is lots of fun. French Quarters great fun, lots of history there, fun tours even at night.Food, can’t beat it. Beautiful old southern mansions to tour, river cruises. and to much shopping. Stay in the French Quarters so much more convenient. Find a hotel that has free parking if you can.Happy traveling.

I was just there in December. If you are any kind of traveler you wont get bored because you will “find” things to do in that city. Drive around/tour the city to get a feel of how they live down there. visit the area with the Katrina damage, go on a swamp tour or on a haunted history tour. Definitely visit bourbon street, especially at night. on bourbon street visit the Cat’s Meow, a cool karaoke bar, had lots of fun there. Visit all of the French Quarter area. There is a cool mall alongside of the river. the food is great there, a chance to try exotic, strange foods. Also, about 2 hrs from New Orleans is Baton Rouge, LA and Biloxi,MS. We went to both while there and had fun, Baton Rouge has a cool zoo and Biloxi has cool casinos and the drive along the gulf coast was beautiful. BEWARE Parking in the french quarter is horribly expensive.
Which ever you choose HAVE FUN
