Should i visit New Orleans>?

Tryin to decide between going on a 1 week west coast road trip, or a New Orleans trip in July. I am leaning toward New Orleans since we have friends there and can borrow there car. If we do west coast trip it will be very costly, and we are saving for a big trip to S.America next. So how is New Orleans for a week visit…would we get bored. We love good foor, and i think that would bethe highlight of the trip for me. My husband always raves about New Orleans….I don’t know what to be excited for. How is there tourism there now?

Tourism is great and they are almost back to normal. I’d pick New Orleans any day.

The tourist part of New Orleans is pretty much back to normal. That depends on what you’d like to do, beaches, i’d recommend the coast, if you’d like to party and relax(it can be done, you might see) then defiently come here. We rock lol. Just, like any other major city, don’t leave the tourists parts(downtown), because the surrounding neighborhoods aren’t to great. I’d suggest staying there too, if not there then maybe uptown or metairie, which is the town over.

New Orleans anytime is fun! – just keep in mind that it’s going to be hotter than heck in July though. There’s plenty to do there and lots and lots of great food! – if I lived there, I would be so fat… Stay cool by walking through the mall near the waterfront – that’s what we did in June. Hot and sticky!

I am from Louisiana. I have to say you will love New Orleans. The food is great from breakfast to dinner. Lots of clubs to enjoy during the night life. There are many things to see througout the day. Get on the street cars and tour the city!

id never consider spending a hot humid week in new orleans during the month of july. the touristy parts of the city (clubs and restaurants) are pretty much back to normal, but then again so is the rest of this crime riddled city. it truly is the detroit of the south with the exception of great music and food. if you do pick new orleans, make sure the car and place you stay are air conditioned and never try to visit the slums( er, neighborhoods). dont wnat to offend anyone. :)

new orleans and it people are very unique and not like any other part of america. the people have such a spirt of souther hospitality and very nice. new orleans is one of the major party spots of the us as well. it you come to new orleans you must go to burbon st at night, it is an indescribeable experince. the street is nothing but bars, gift shops, and hotels open all night. you can see everythign from public nudity, to mimes paints all in gold or silver and if you put money in their boxes they will move. some people are dressed up like halloween even though it may be in june.
the audobun zoo and aquarim are very nice and the river wall it also a very nice mall to shop at. you would also want to do some shopping in the french quater it is like a huge flee market in the middle of a busy city. there are swamp tours right outside the city. people actually come to new orleans to go on grave yard tours. we have facinating grave yards and there are alos voodoo tours and you can see “Marie LaVou’s” grave. oh and the best thing about new orleans is the food . a few must tries are the boild shrimp, crabs, and crawfish. gumbo, jambalyas, and all of the resturants are pretty good at cooking all creole dishes. enjoy your stay down in the big easy
