Endymion and Bacchus are considered the best parades by many but are not favored by traditionalists, a little too nouveau riche by some blue-bloods’ standards. I really like Krewe D’Etat since their themes are funny, and the Orpheus parade is pretty nice too. Rex has so much tradition that I would feel guilty by saying I didn’t like it the best. LSU’s band will be in Rex this year too which is a rare bonus. You can see many of the dates and times on nola.com’s Mardi Gras pages.

Endymion, the Saturday before Mardi Gras, Zulu, Rex. Also the Krewe of Trucks, is wonderful, you get so many throws.

Well, I love Mardi Gras. It’s like my life, and my favorite parades are Endymion and the NO parades on Mardi Gras day. You should check out Endymion because the floats are massive and it’s just a lot of fun. I am lucky this year, because I scored tickets to the Endymion Extravaganza this year so I’m pretty much excited. Anyway, Bacchus is pretty cool as well. I love Mardi Gras, so I’m going to say all of them are awesome.

Well I enjoy Barkus the best, its a dog parade through the Quarter and its a hoot. This occurs the weekend before the major parades though. This weekend is Krewe du Vieux, which I also enjoy.

But as far as the major parades Bacchus and Endymion are the best. Longest, Largest and good throws/beads!

Endymion is my fave by far. with Zulu and Bacchus a close 2nd. i would come in maybe the thursday before mardi gras and stay till the following thursday. to avoid some of the friday rush to get in and the weds. rush to get out. but if u havnt booked a hotel yet you should do that ASAP

Visitors to the city like Endymion and Bacchus, but my favorite is REX.

If your looking to catch a lot of stuff, a parade thats not so big, such as the ones on the weekdays, uptown or in metarie are great. Mardi Gras day is, of course, good for partying and catching beads.
