Will I get paid time and a half today?

Hello, it is labor day and I have to work because my boss is supposedly on vacation in New Orleans (LIAR)…. I am non-exempt so will I get time and a half or holiday pay today? Is it illegal if he doesn’t pay me holiday pay? Also, can I refuse to work a holiday?
P.S I live in Austin, TX…. I don’t know if it would vary by city or state.
Um, I don’t work in a super market….. I work in a spa…

Will there be any Nintendo Wii’s in Orlando, Fl in the next two weeks?

I’m going there for the Mardi Gras Holiday (Yes, i live in New Orleans) but anyway, we were going for vacation and I was thinking, no Wii’s here….they got to have some in Florida. I know the Wii’s are low on stock but I REALLY WANT ONE!!!! So if anybody lives in or is around Orlando, Fl, could you please tell when they’ll have Wii’s or if they have them already? Thanks

Teenage christmas party?

My sister and I want to hold a Christmas party with all of our friends during the holidays. We already have an amazing selection of Christmas music and great food ideas; however, we need some ideas for what to do during the party. I have heard about a million times the gift exchange/white elephant idea, but we want to do something different at our party. We can’t do anything with snow, since it rarely snows in New Orleans, unless by chance there is a miracle this year! Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
P.S. Our friends are around 16 and 17 years old.

What to do about my exremely dry skin?

I am 14 and take prescription medication for the acne I used to suffer with. Though the medication I am using (Retina Micro) has worked , there is a problem. I was told to use the medication for four years and that my dry skin would be a normal side effect. This is my first time of use during the winter and the somewhat cold weather in New Orleans makes matters so much worse. Before the winter, noone could tell I had dry skin (I would just put lotion on one or two times throughout the day). Now, my lotion routine no longer works as well. This problem has started within the past few days, so none of my friends have seen it. Can someone tell me something I can do over the Thanksgiving holiday?

I’m making a movie about Disneyland (I’m putting together all of my home movies) and for a finale I wanted a song that sort of tied it all together, and maybe made you shed a tear… that sort of thing!

Name of Song and artist would be appreciated!

Also, titles of songs that I could play in other places of the movie would be great! Example, I’d like a song that I could play during a New Orleans Square segment.

French Quarter — Bourbon Street

Does the Mardi Gras tradition (the one with the beads) happen on other days or does it only happen during Mardi Gras?? Will I be the only drunk guy with beads on Bourbon Street some random Friday night?? Would I have to wait for a major public holiday??

I am planning on a trip down to New Orleans later this year, and I would like to see some of the ’sights’ that bourbon street and the French quarter has to offer.

Should I give up on our so called friendship? Advice Appreciated?

Let me state that we have been best friends since 2000, well over 6 yrs +. We became best friends in high school JROTC. I joined the army in 2004, and came home in 2005 which is when Hurricane Katrina hit. I moved to Houston but I visited New Orleans during Holidays, Birthdays, etc. We were close, I viewed her as my sister. I have been told that time changes and people change. I dont want to give up on our friendship simply because it will hurt. I have called, texted, emailed- I have tried in every way to find out if our friendship still exists. It seems as if I am trying too hard, but I honor friendship. I sent an email last night, I havent recieved a reply as of yet. I want to know, if I should just give up on the friendship and move on- or try to make amends. I dont know what to do …. help, advice?
